My Story

Marat Shahinian:  I was born on November 19th, 2013, in Ijevan. I am in 6th grade. My favorite subjects are Armenian, English, French, and Math. My hair and eyes are brown. I attend our local Evangelical church. My father, Arayik, died in 2015. My mother, Karine, bakes cookies and sells them from home. She experiences general weakness and stutters when speaking. My guardian is my mother. I have a 13-year-old sister, Mariam. My grandparents also live with us. Our income is not enough to care for our needs. It includes poverty allowance, survivor's pension, and my mother's salary. We live in my maternal grandfather’s house, which is partially renovated. The bathroom and toilet are semi-constructed. The furniture is old-fashioned but well-maintained. We have gas, water, and electricity. Using your assistance, we care for my basic needs.  (7-345; update)

Note* Marat is a lively and active boy, showing noticeable changes in his behavior. He attends a football group and often plays with friends in the yard. Marat enjoys being the center of attention.
