My Story

Amalya Melikbekian: I was born on November 6, 2008, in Ijevan. I have black hair and dark brown eyes. I'm in 11th grade. My favorite school subjects are the Armenian language, Physical Education, and History. I am completely healthy. I attend our local Evangelical church. My father, Gevorg, is unemployed due to health reasons. He started experiencing hair loss around his face and head due to acute stress. Luckily, the treatment he was undergoing worked. My mother, Karine, is a housewife. I have 3 brothers (Hrach - 21, Vrezh - 19, Nver - 1) and a sister (Tina - 8). Our guardians are our parents. Our income is not enough to care for our needs. It includes poverty allowance and my brother's salary. We live in a dormitory with no communal amenities. The building is in a hazardous condition, there is no gas, and they collect water from an outdoor tap in the yard. Electricity is available, but the furniture is old and worn out. Using your assistance, we buy food and clothes. (7-346; update)

Note*   Amalya is a modest, disciplined, and humble girl. She enjoys listening to music, reading the Bible, and helping her mother with household chores.
