STITCHED WITH LOVE
When Stitched With Love began in 2013, we could not have imagined the outpouring of love and support that would come so quickly and generously from across the United States. To date, more than 3,000 knit and crocheted items have been distributed to children throughout Armenia. Stitched With Love continues to provide knit hats and baby blankets to newborns in maternity hospitals throughout Armenia.
Over 40,000 babies are born in Armenia each year. Yet, few hospitals in Yerevan distribute hats and blankets to newborns, and none are distributed throughout the small towns and villages of Armenia.
Stitched With Love founders Betty Cherkezian and Nancy Burdman recognized this need and have received growing support from donors and knitters who wish to participate in this cause.
Stitched With Love envisions a time when all newborn babies in Armenia get to go home with their mothers, swaddled in a blanket and hat!
